Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the overall operations of the Nursing Services department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations.
DCH Standards:
Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing and currently licensed by the state of Alabama. Previous experience in a long-term care facility required. Anyone hired after April 1, 2025 must have a BSN and Master's degree in Nursing or Health Related Field or must be enrolled in a Nursing or Health Related Master’s level program to be completed within 2 years. Minimum (3) years’ experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing home or other related health care facility. CPR certification up-to-date. Working knowledge of The Skilled Nursing Facility Minimum Data Set, Resident Assessment Instrument, Patient Driven Data Model, Consolidated Billing, Quality Reporting, Value Based Purchasing, Payroll Based Journal programs required. Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to Long Term Care required. Computer skills required for general knowledge of facility computer systems. Demonstrates skills for communication with all population served. Positive attitude toward the elderly. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
