The Outpatient pharmacist is responsible for the management of all aspects of outpatient pharmacy services retail, specialty and assists with transitions of care. Responsible for providing direction and leadership to pharmacy technicians who provide pharmaceutical care to patients in the DCH Outpatient pharmacy. The pharmacist will lead the development and maintenance of safe, timely, efficient, equitable, effective, and patient-centered pharmacy patient care services.
DCH Standards:
B.S. in pharmacy is required, Pharm.D is preferred . Must be currently licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Alabama. License eligible pharmacists (ie Pharmacists licensed in other states) are acceptable provided they take and pass the pharmacist licensing exams required by the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy within 3 months of employment. Skills in pharmacy customer problem-resolution and supervision. Participation in professional organizations is strongly encouraged. Must be able to operate computer, calculator, telephone, prescription balance and other related pharmaceutical equipment. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
