Overview

Responsible for maintaining Northport Medical Center buildings and grounds

 

Responsibilities

 

  1. Maintains and improves buildings, equipment and grounds
  2. Be able to perform emergency repairs, scheduled repairs, preventative maintenance and inspections
  3. Responsible for completing health/safety issues immediately or As Soon as Possible
  4. Provision of reliable utilities
  5. Regulatory compliance of buildings, equipment and grounds
  6. Ordering parts and materials
  7. Attend all scheduled classes and meetings
  8. Daily Complete all required logs and records

DCH Standards:

  • Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation.
  • Performs compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Must adhere to the DCH Behavioral Standards including creating positive relationships with patients/families, coworkers, colleagues and with self.
  • Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software and intranet.
  • Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English. 
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required. 
  • Must possess a valid Alabama Driver’s License
  • Must demonstrate facility competence through a cognitive CBT test and specific tasks observation

PLUS:

  • Two year technical degree directly applicable to primary assignment;

And

Two years’ experience either in health facility engineering or relevant to primary assignment

OR,

Five years’ experience relevant to primary assignment area or  with Engineering Services at a DCH facility

OR,

Ten years’ experience utilizing relevant general mechanical skills
