Overview

The Vice President of Finance is a key member of the hospital’s financial leadership team and is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This position ensures the integrity of financial information, compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements and alignment with DCH’s strategic financial goals. The role includes oversight of the general accounting functions, budgeting & forecasting, financial reporting, treasury management, internal controls, audit functions, cost accounting, third party/governmental reimbursement and financial planning.

Responsibilities

  1. Leads all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, and internal control.
  2. Develops, implements, and maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity of all financial processes.
  3. Oversees the preparation of all financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, and annual budgets.
  4. Collaborates with executive leadership to develop long-term financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  5. Provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and trends to assist the CEO, CFO, and Board of Directors.
  6. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including those related to Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, tax reporting, and financial disclosures.
  7. Coordinates internal and external audits and ensures timely resolution of all audit findings.
  8. Manages cash flow and forecasting to ensure hospital sustainability and growth.
  9. Oversees the finance team, including recruiting, training, supervision, and evaluation.
  10. Assists with public or private debt issuance and monitors compliance requirements of outstanding bonds.
  11. Other duties as deemed appropriate by the CFO

  • Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a Degree in Accounting required.  Master’s Degree or CPA preferred. Minimum 7-10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.  Strong knowledge of not for profit accounting guidelines and third party reimbursement.  Proficiency in hospital financial software systems and the Microsoft Office Suite. Proven experience leading financial operations in a complex regulated environment. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak and comprehend English.
