Our Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit (TSICU) is a 16-bed intensive care unit specializing in the care of highly acute trauma, surgical and neuro patients. In a typical day, a nurse could encounter a large variety of patients. This could range from gunshot wounds, to a bowel perforation with sepsis, to a hemorrhagic stroke with a Ventriculostomy- and anything in between! Our nurses learn to become highly attuned to subtle patient changes and take pride in helping the patient receive rapid intervention when necessary. We are passionate about advocating for our patients and collaborate with a variety of disciplines to help meet their needs. Our professional governance team, composed of highly engaged staff members, enjoy implementing best practices to assure our patients receive the best care possible. We strive to maintain an environment rich in teamwork and love an opportunity to share our skill and expertise with students.
Plans, coordinates, and directs quality, compassionate care by maintaining standards of professional nursing practice and creating positive therapeutic relationships with patients/families. Supervises LPNs, PCAs, PCAs/US, US, Ortho Techs and other non-licensed staff.
