Responsible for maintaining individual customer relationships with patients of the DCH Workforce Health Clinic by completing administrative duties required for the provision of direct patient medical care in the clinic.

1. Greet incoming patients. Obtain necessary information, including referrals for new patients, and prepare charts for clinic.
2. May require travel to and/or fill-in duties at additional clinics and/or travel to bank.
3. Maintain appointment sign in sheet and update database with demographic information as needed.
4. Answer phones and assist callers or route to the appropriate office personnel
5. Remind patients of upcoming appointments.
6. Send letters to patients for nonscheduled and missed appointments.
7. Schedule appointments, exams, and test as directed by medical staff, provide information regarding preparation for tests as needed.
8. Retrieve, maintain and organize patient files, laboratory reports, radiology reports, and additional records, letters, and any other sources of patient information/documents, etc.
9. Photocopy records as requested, forward information to other health care providers and insurance companies as requested.
10. Obtain and send all necessary information to billing agency including payments and receipts.
11. Retrieve information from physician’s workstation and boxes on a regular basis.
12. Assist in day to day tasks as needed in the clinic/office to ensure delivery of quality patient care, and a safe and efficient working environment.
13. Maintain patient privacy in all matters including written medical records and computer records.

1. High school diploma or GED
2. Knowledge of general medical office procedures with at least 1-2 years medical office receptionist experience.
3. Ability to sort alphabetically and numerically.
4. Ability to operate basic office equipment.
5. Attentions to detail and to work with frequent interruptions.
6. Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with patients and other visitors.
7. Ability to establish effective working relationships with medical staff and co-workers.
8. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
9. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
