Provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient clinical nutrition services including nutrition screening, assessment, and education.  Develops nutrition care plans.  Participates in patient care teams and performance improvement activities.

1. Screens patients (pediatric-geriatric) for nutritional risk. Assesses patients found at risk and recommends a nutrition care plan as appropriate.
2. Participates in care planning and patient/family conferences.
3. Provides nutrition education for patients, staff, and community groups. Participates in heath fairs and other community activities.
4. Participates in various committees and performance improvement activities.
5. Serves as preceptor for students.
6. Must adhere to all DCH Nutritional Services policies and procedures.

• Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Must hold a current Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and a current Alabama license.  Registry eligible dietitians are acceptable provided they hold a temporary Alabama license or eligible to obtain a temporary Alabama license prior to employment and take and pass the Registration exam within 1 year of employment.  Master’s Degree Preferred. Membership and participation in professional organizations (i.e. Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Dietetic Practice Groups, local Dietetic Association, etc.) is strongly encouraged.
