The Clinical Coordinator provides curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluations and counseling to student sonographers.
Responsibilities
Develops curriculum based upon the JRC-DMS, CAAHEP and ARDMS requirements for the Sonography program.
Maintains current knowledge of the professional discipline as well as educational theories and methodologies.
Prepares and maintains course outlines and objectives, instructs and evaluates students and reports progress.
Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures and student progress.
Supports the Program Director to assure effective program operations.
Participates in the accreditation and assessment processes.
Provides instruction, evaluates the performance and provides counseling of student sonographers.
Supervises student sonographers in clinical setting.
Has knowledge of PACS system.
Correlates clinical education with didactic education.
Coordinates clinical education and evaluates its effectiveness.
Cooperates with the PD in periodic review and revision of clinical course materials.
Understands and practices all AIDET principles.
Uses I Care principles to ensure proper patient identification, correct exam, and to improve patient communication and engagement.
While in the clinical setting, provides care and safety to patients undergoing exams.

Performs compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Fulfills education requirements for assigned position including DCH Health System and Imaging required CBT’s, in-services, meetings and educational sessions.

Qualifications
Must minimally possess the appropriate ARDMS credential(s) specific to the program concentration(s) or other comparable registry.
Associate’s degree is required with Bachelor’s degree conferred within two years of hire date.
Two year’s full time experience as a registered sonographer required.
Must be efficient in the use of imaging equipment in the area of expertise, office equipment and related material essential to good patient care, imaging exams and Synapse.
Must have documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and in educational theories and techniques.
Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
Must demonstrate instructional and scanning competence.
