Overview

Responsible for assisting Special Events Manager in executing fund-raising programs.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for assisting the Special Events and Annual Giving Manager in executing fund-raising programs. Priority areas include:
    1. Setting up of meetings and assisting with logistics for successful execution of Foundation events.
    2. Ensure proper check-in and communication of volunteers
    3. Research vendors and source quotes to ensure the best pricing for events
    4. Assist with post-event volunteer thank-you notes
  2. Assisting with the planning and execution of community night events and other Third Party events
  3. Assist with the production of all event print communication pieces for the Foundation in close coordination with the Special Events and Annual Giving Manager. Examples:
    1. Brochures
    2. Newsletters
    3. Invitations
    4. Announcements
    5. Flyers
  4. Assist with the internal giving program – “we give”
    1. Data Entry
    2. Package giveaway items
    3. Work pop-up events to hand out giveaways
  5. Assisting with preparing social media content to send to Marketing for approval and posting
  6. Auction Solicitation for our silent auction
  7. Maintaining event storage areas and inventory
  8. Assist with office coverage when needed – Answer the phone and front door and assist patrons when needed
  9. Must have the ability and willingness to work occasional nights and weekends as circumstances require.

  12. Must have the ability to alert the Special Events and Annual Giving Manager of any potential problems or conflicts and to offer solutions.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.  Actively enrolled in a BS program.  Previous experience in an events-related, fundraising setting preferred. Proficient in all current office and software technology, including, but not limited to: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher.

Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English. 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Environmental

There are relatively few actions that would serve as an environmental hazard to this position.

 

Physical

This position ebbs and flows. There are times when sedentary and light work are part of the position. However, during a busy event time, the caliber of work increases to a light to medium work load.

 

Definitions:

L-Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force

frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or

more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

 

M-Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force

frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical

demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
