Overview

Installs, supports and operates I/T technology to meet customers’ needs.

Responsibilities

  1. Follows documented procedures for I/T tasks and projects
  2. Documents problems and tasks and completes them in a timely manner.
  3. Serves as a key resource for I/T tasks and projects
  4. Develops and implements cost savings and performance improvement processes.
  5. Participates in on-call coverage.
  6. As of August 15, 2011, employees in an Support Technician II position will qualify to remain in an Support Technician position.

 

DCH Standards:

  • Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software and intranet.
  • Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  1. High school diploma or GED and 3 years of hands on IT experience OR
  2. Associates, technical, or higher and 1 year of hands on IT experience
  3. Possesses basic knowledge of PC hardware and software or has a working knowledge of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and/or telecommunications.
  4. Good problem solving and communication skills required
  5. Ability to read, write legibly, speak and comprehend English.

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Ability to travel to all Health System facilities. Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range.  Able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

 

For Support Technicians in Computer Operations, Network Support, and Dispatch: Active work.  Lifting 55 pounds and lifting and/or carrying such articles as paper boxes, PC's, ladders, printers, and telephone hardware including sets and distribution system materials.  This job involves standing, walking, climbing ladders, pulling cables, drilling holes, and other mechanical duties that require sound motor skills. Requires being able to stoop, kneel, and crouch downward and forward by bending legs and spine.  Should be able to reach and extend hands and arms in any direction, bending, crawling, and stooping, in new construction, on existing office spaces/desks. Must have good manual dexterity for data entry and adjustment of paper and forms in printers.

 

For Support Technicians in Security Support: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to do data entry for extended periods of time. Must be able to work with Patients through MyDCH support and managers on security requests.
